Let's get to the stories and links that I thought were worth sharing this week. As always, enjoy the newsletter. If this was forwarded to you, you can go ahead and subscribe at conordewey.com.
What I read —
I really like the idea of first, second, and third-order thinking laid out in this post. I've recently been making my way through Poor Charlie's Almanack, which describes plenty of adjacent ideas. Second-Order Thinking.
If you want to be great at something, you better learn to love it. I've been in this camp for a while, and it feels good to find an article that I think aptly describes how I feel about this. Falling in Love.
I feel like I needed this message. While in pursuit of greatness, it's easy to isolate yourself in a whirlwind of productivity and "the grind." Balance isn't only good for you, it also might help you out on your journey. It's Okay to Be Good and Not Great.
What I found interesting —
Last week I included a link on the rise of Google-related search results. This felt like a good follow-up. Interesting breakdown of starting up Chrome here. Launching Google Chrome.
This is something that I've come to terms with in a big way lately. Kind of alarming, but also pretty cool to reflect on this quote. Biased Personal History.
Quote I'm pondering —
“Write a short story every week. It’s not possible to write 52 bad short stories in a row.” — Ray Bradbury
